Wind racer
Aim:
To build the fastest wind racer out of the supplied materials.
Equipment:
- Cart (trollety)
- String
- A square of Cardboard
- Paper
- Scissors
- 1 metre Tape
- clamp stand
Method:
- Screw the pole from the clamp stand into the chassis.
- Tape strips of cardboard onto the base of the pole so they form the base of the sail.
- Cut out a large piece of paper and fold it over and around the pole to form sails.
- Tape it together and ensure it is stable and secure.
- Decorate the sails and name the vessel.
- Use the wind blower and measure the distance and speed it travels.
Result:
Our wind racers time was 8.93 and the distance was 11.70.
Discussion:
V = d/t = 1.31
Conclusion - our wind racer worked well but next time we would make it more sturdy since it fell over at the end and if it stayed up it would of gone further.

Power of friendship
The incident of when Amari stealing the scroll and finding Zelie helps me understand the idea of the power of friendship, we see this because even though Amari stole it off Zelie it brought them together as friends and since they met because of this everything changed after this because they helped each other heaps, you get to see the scroll was powerful when the text says "I expect to feel some aura in the scrolls presence"
The Incident of when Amari having the scroll and finding Zelie helped me understand the important idea of friendship because even though their friendship took heaps of time to develop it was from that moment they started to spend more time together and slowly develop a friendship without even realising and from this they started to achieve their goals from the power of friendship and have such a big impact on each other throughout the book as they both help each other through tough times and help each other make big decisions.

Today we have to pre-plan a essay as it was broken up into different parts, we has to choose a key
event and key character, as a group we chose zelie as the key character and the solstice when she gets
her magic back as the key event, we also had to say three ways the character changed after
the event and below this you get to see what we decided.
- What is going to be my ‘key event’
My key event is going to be the solstice when Zelie gets her magic back
Who is going to be my ‘important character’?
My important character is going to be Zelie
What are 3 ways the character changed as a result of this event?
My character changed from being hopeless to hopeful
My character changed from being angry to dissapointed
